Overview & Responsibilities:

We currently have a full time opening for a Memorial Specialist (Field Ops Support Assistant) at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas, TX. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provides administrative and clerical support to a funeral home, cemetery, crematory or a combination of these facilities. Other general duties may include greeting the general public, answering questions and providing general information on services offered in a polite manner with a goal to meet and exceed customer expectations.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide Clerical Support

Review contracts and marker orders for completeness and accuracy. Gather all information from client’s file, back up documentation, order marker and track through to completion.

  • Willingness to learn the designing of markers

  • Blind Checks

  • Work with Family Service and Maintenance

  • Learn Texas Department of Banking Rules and Regulations

  • Prepare and reconcile weekly/monthly reports with high degree of accuracy.

  • Maintain Accurate Marker Tracking Log.

  • Perform Quarterly Cemetery Inventory and Reconciliation.

  • Monthly Accounts Payable Reconciliation in regards to marker invoices.

  • Manage filing systems

Customer Service

  • Communicates client family’s needs promptly and accurately to the appropriate staff member.

  • Conveys a sense of concern and empathy with client family members at all times.

  • Demonstrates a caring attitude when problems arise while calmly and efficiently bringing the situation to the attention of a staff member who can provide resolution

  • Responds to customer inquiries via telephone, internet and in person

  • Maintains professional and cooperative relationships with county clerk, medical examiner and physicians

  • Keeps accurate records

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School or GED equivalent

Experience:

  • 1 - 2 years’ experience in an office clerical or customer service capacity required

  • Experience working in a customer-focused and fast-paced professional environment required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • High-level understanding of HMIS and Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

  • Requires the ability to deal with privileged information in a confidential manner

  • Professional dress and manner conducive to cemetery and funeral home environment.

  • Ability to professionally communicate with families and vendor via company email.

  • Ability to multi task and work in team based environment while maintaining high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Prior cemetery experience preferred
