Service Corporation International (SCI) Corporate - Administrative Assistant in Houston, Texas
Overview & Responsibilities
The Administrative Assistant’s primary focus will be to provide assistance to the attorneys as well as other legal staff in our Corporate Legal Department. This position requires excellent communication skills and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel.
Draft, edit and proofread contracts and letters and prepare correspondence
Assist with development of presentation materials
Answer phones, redirect calls as appropriate or resolve calls when possible
Review, code and submit invoices for processing
Schedule meetings and conference calls, file, scan, make copies, arrange travel and complete expense reports
Serve as back-up to other Administrative Assistants in the Department
Assist on short-term “special projects” as assigned
Prepare wire transfers and process incoming checks for deposit with our Treasury Department
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an administrative assistant and/or secretary is preferred. Strongly prefer candidates with administrative support experience from a legal environment.
An Associates/Bachelors degree in English, Language Arts, Communications or a related field is a plus
Excellent reading comprehension and oral and written communication skills are required.
Must be dedicated, detail oriented, organized, proactive and self-motivated
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel proficiency, is required
