Service Corporation International (SCI) Corporate - HR Generalist in Cramerton, North Carolina

Overview & Responsibilities

Delivers HR services to respective client groups, responsible for implementing human resources policies, programs and practices, which may include staffing, compensation, training, and performance management. Partners with HR Leadership Team to drive SCI administrative and coordination processes. May be responsible for communicating and informing associates of HR initiatives, project managing efforts, and ensuring programs are aligned with culture of business unit.

S PECIFIC RESPONSBILITIES:

Policies and Procedures

  • Working cross-functionally with HR Business Partners, contributes to the support and implementation of corporate-wide programs, policies, procedures, systems and initiatives.

  • Assists with preparation of internal associate communications regarding compensation,benefits, or company policies.

Employee Relations

  • Interprets policy and provide coaching/direction and counsel to managers and employees using creative and practical solutions to proactively anticipate, prevent and resolve HR issues, including but not limited to leadership and employee development issues.

  • Acts as mentor to lower level HR staff to develop all aspects or HR and interpersonal expertise.

  • Investigates Careline complaints.

  • Assists with process improvement activities for on-boarding and exiting associates.

  • Responds to and resolve all associate inquiries relative to payroll, benefits, time reporting, etc.

  • May serve as backup in support of duties associated with Acquisitions and Divestitures.

  • Assists Corporate HR team on special projects as needed.

HR Data/Metrics

  • Analyzes data, identifies trends and recommends solutions to improve employee satisfaction, performance, and retention.

Requirements & Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL/EXPEREINCE REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management or in a related discipline

Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years of HR related experience

  • PHR certification desirable, but not required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration

  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work

  • Ability to work with considerable independence, often defining objectives of assignments

  • Ability to prioritize effectively and handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image to associates and client groups

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, supervisors and associates

  • Excellent judgment and conflict management skills, comprehensive tact and discretion

  • Comfortable working through ambiguous situations and advising senior management onappropriate course

  • Good understanding of basic HR analytics

  • Demonstrated organizational, influence and problem solving skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, & Excel.
