Overview & Responsibilities
Works collaboratively with the Learning Manager and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and develop high-quality learning programs. Leverages multiple technologies for graphics design, e-authoring, audio/visual recording and rendering, web design, etc. to create content that engages the learner and facilitates learning transfer.
60% Course Development
E-authoring in tools such as Captivate and Lectora
Instructor led material development in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite
Virtual and blended learning solutions
Program development focused on behavior change vs. course completion. Programs must develop a learner’s ability, motivation, and opportunity to implement change
Localization of course materials, primarily into Spanish and French Canadian
Combine multiple types of assets (graphics, A/V files, flash animations, etc.) into a consistent and effective learning programs
30% Creative Design
Audio / Visual editing
Layout and formatting of Instructor Led Materials
Programming / Coding
Troubleshooting learning technologies
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required
Degrees / Certifications in instructional design are preferred
Certifications in Adobe, Lectora, web-design, HTML or other learning technologies preferred
5+ years designing and developing training deliverables in an enterprise environment.
5+ years experience with instructor led, e-learning, virtual, experiential and/or mobile instructional design
3+ years experience with web-design, coding, or programming preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Intermediate skills with:
Programming / coding languages such as HTML
Advanced skills with:
Adobe Creative Suite
Audio / Visual applications such as Audacity and SnagIt
Demonstrated organizational skills with an attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work effectively and efficiently on networked computers using current applications including Microsoft Office
Demonstrated understanding of adult learning principles and classroom management
Demonstrated instructional design skills / knowledge
Demonstrated understanding of learning evaluation metrics and measurement processes
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work on cross-functional teams, manage subject matter experts, and influence without authority
